NewsDate: Jan 11, 2010 Cougars Collect 6 Points Over WeekendThe Burlington Cougars can't get enough of winning. They added another three victories over the weekend. Burlington beat Upper Canada 7-0 on Friday night at Lakeshore Arena. Saturday at home they faced the fourth-place Orangeville Crushers, which was a wild game with lots of scoring. The Cougars managed to come away with a 8-7 win. On Sunday they travelled to play Toronto, and dispatched the Jr. Canadiens once again, by a score 8-3.
Not only did the Cougars get six points over the weekend, but forward Josh Jooris recorded his 100th point of the season. Josh is the third player in the last five years to record 100 points in a season. With that being said, Greg Carey is also 4 points away from 100. That would mark the first time ever in league history that two players from the same team have 100 point seasons. Carey reached the 60-goal plateau in the Sunday matchup against Toronto.
